Take one retired AIFD consultant, add in a scenic art painter and private art teacher, one tattoo artist, a fine arts major turned professional artist, one visual graphics major, an advertising major and a graphic artist specializing in sealife wearable art and add up their years of art experience. Then you’ll have a combined total of well more than 100 years of art and design knowledge and expertise working to preserve, paint, restore and design the beautiful flowers sent to Keepsake Floral into memorable keepsakes and original works of art for our clients.
And more impressive than that number of years of combined art talent is the unique meeting and melding of these individual talents toward the work of preserving and designing client flowers to create keepsake designs and products of the highest quality and artistic value and integrity.
At Keepsake Floral, we are proud of our diverse and talented team, whose combined experience exceeds 100 years in art and design. Each team member brings unique expertise to the table, allowing us to craft keepsakes that are unparalleled in quality and beauty.
Lori, the scenic artist turned art teacher, has such a beautiful knack for coaching and instructing that she has just organically taken on the mantle of the Design Studio Trainer. Her years of working with an airbrush in her hand also have earned her the task of performing the final airbrushing and finishing of our keepsakes. Lori possesses two traits that cannot be taught quickly and are integral to the education of our design team and the realistic beauty of our preserved flowers.
Our tattoo artist designs a mean keepsake, but also serves as our design and production coordinator and traffic manager. Her attention to detail (necessary in tattoo design), patience and smarts all contribute to her role at Keepsake.
Our favorite floral design consultant (once one of our most beloved designers for many years) holds in her past history the highest floral design accreditation in the floral industry, American Institute of Floral Design. Brita was very instrumental in creating and perfecting many of our design processes and continues to consult with our team lending her natural and also her well-learned floral expertise to our group.
Our fine arts major handles our social media posting, creative imaging content and specializes in our larger, more complex keepsakes.
Isabella, our resident sea life illustrator and online wearable merchant, serves as our content and image capturer and specializes in our flower preservation at Keepsake. She’s a hard worker and not afraid to roll her sleeves up in many capacities, just like a good entrepreneur would.
Leila, our graphic design major, really adds her production hustle to her keepsake design work and can crank through a serious inventory of keepsake designs in a week!
Our advertising major with the business minor? She’s the owner .. part artist, part marketer and part business and financial overseer. Dana not only created the company but continues to monitor and is heavily involved in the branding, marketing and business side of the company after 30 years.
Does this experience really matter when preserving flowers? Absolutely! There are some companies and independent DIYers who have begun preserving flowers only recently, capitalizing on the recent resin flower preservation trend. Many of these organizations have only been working in preserved flowers or in the floral, wedding and event industry for a handful of years.
Although research and development of a flower preservation-based business can certainly be initially researched in a few short weeks or months in order to get a business started, the real experience comes from working over and over with flowers, clients, industry partners and bouquets. The importance of knowing what works hundreds or thousands of times through actual experience is invaluable.
